Sustainability
GOTS is an international label that checks the entire textile chain for ecological and social criteria, from cotton cultivation to finished product. Among other things, it prohibits the use of harmful chemicals and guarantees fair working conditions.
Fairtrade Cotton guarantees that cotton farmers receive a fair price and invest in their communities. The label promotes sustainable farming practices and improves farmers' living and working conditions.
At Suitable, we choose packaging that is both functional and environmentally conscious. Whether you order online or shop in shop, we pay attention to material use, reusability and waste reduction:
Online orders
- Since 2023, we use shipping boxes that contain up to 85% less ink than before.
- Shipping bags are the standard for less fragile items.
- For clothes that wrinkle easily or for larger orders, we use cardboard folding boxes, available in several sizes, eliminating the need for padding material.
In our shops
- Small bags are made of recycled plastic.
- Large carrier bags are made of FSC-certified kraft paper from responsibly managed forests.
Internal shipments
- Our shipping bags are made of at least 80% recycled plastic, in a white design that uses less ink.
- We also reuse boxes previously received from suppliers. We try to use these as long as possible
Sometimes you just can't avoid it: returning an item. Even then, you can still help reduce unnecessary transport emissions and CO₂ output. That’s why we’ve gathered a few handy tips to help you make your return as sustainable as possible:
- Reuse the original packaging
Our shipping boxes are specially designed to be easy to reuse. This helps reduce waste and immediately supports a circular choice. Tip: open your order carefully so you can reuse the box neatly!
- Combine multiple items into one return shipment
Need to return several items? Put them all in one package. It saves both packaging materials and transport. Try to avoid using duct tape, as it makes recycling the cardboard more difficult.
- Walk or cycle to a drop-off point
When bringing your package to a drop-off location, it’s more environmentally friendly to do so on foot or by bike if possible.
